Good Evening. Welcome to The Tuesday Lot : Tuesday, May 20, 2025
Who are we? A mixed bunch of mountain bike riders who are all individuals with different hobbies and interests, but who share one thing in common, we all love our mountain bikes and riding them. We ride Tuesday afternoon all year round, hence the title. Some of the retired members (of whom there are a few) ride Friday's regularly, with the other members coming along on their day's off.
Do you fancy a ride out with us? Send us your Name and Telephone number to ttlmtb@gmail.com and we'll get back to you with some details.
Often heard comments during our rides: Hover over the text for the actual meaning below
That was a good fast downhill.
It's not thorny, you can wear shorts.
We shouldn't get lost again now.
We should get back before it's dark.
Our Rides
Generally we have one leader, this is the guy who knows where he is going (hopefully). The rest are simply along for the ride and following the man in front. Our rides are purely social, they are not a race! Which brings us to rule No 1.
- You are responsible for ensuring that the man behind you is not left wondering which way to go when he gets to a turning and there is no one there waiting for him.
If you pass the leader you stand a good chance of missing a turn or going the wrong way, plus other riders may follow you thinking that you do know the way. Which brings us to rule No 2.
- Do not pass the leader unless he has advised you to do so.
Losing someone on a ride is never a good idea, particularly in the woods.
Usually this will upset the leader somewhat! This is also not a good idea!
The "raison d'être" behind riding MTB's is one of enjoyment, which brings us to rule No 3.
- Enjoy the ride!
